ABOUT ME.
Born 1970 in Sweden, and brought up in the best way possible, by the best parents possible. Like many others, I did not have a clue what to do with my life...So I did what my brother did, and become a chef. That lasted for a summer, until I decided to go travelling. Since my brother is 4 years older than me, I guess I have to refer to him once again. Faster money from the local industry, and 6 month later, me and my friend Jan went, in March 1989, to China with the Transibirian Railroad. We spent 6 month travelling South East Asia. That was the start of a full time passion for travelling. I still havent reach the finish line yet, and hopefully, never will do. Numerous trips to Asia and South, Central and North America, and Europe, have given me fantastic moments, and fantastic memories. Now, 18 years later, I am still spending several month a year abroad, enjoying every minute of it. Philippines is now my winter escape, and a great place to hang out.
I am also, since 6 years back into cooking. Now on different oiltankers. So even while working, I get to go travelling. The downside is, that while spending all this time abroad, I miss, my family back in Sweden. I keep telling myself though, that I still have more vacation in Sweden, than any "normal" working Swede. Every summer I have at least 10 weeks off, and those I love spending around my family, girlfriend and friends.
One paradise I get to enjoy every summer, is our place in North West of Jamtland. Nature at its best. The mountains, lakes, rivers and forest is full of berries, mushrooms and fishes. Picking lots of cloudberries or catch a big trout is life quality. Putting your nets in the lake, and smoke your catch in your own smoker. Spending time in a firewood heated sauna, right next to the lake, enjoying a swim in the refreshing water and then afterwards, having a cold beer at the porch, overlooking the lake and the mountains is more than quality life. Its truly amazing!
My interest in photography has been with me since my first trip in 1989. I was playing around with an old Jashica J5 from my father before that, but one of the places I got to visit on this trip, was Hong Kong, and I ended up buying Canons first autofocus from the EOS series. And in my point of view Hong Kong still is a great place to shop around for good priced cameragear. I been buying many houses and lenses in Hong Kong without any problem.
My interest in photography is on a pure amature level. I never took a course or was taught how a good picture is defined. There might be many guides and rules, that I guess you are supposed to follow, but if I like a certain picture, then I think it is a good picture, regarding any "rulebreaking" errors or "oh no`s" from professionals or others.
All the pictures you can find here, is simply just pictures I like. Most of my pictures through the years, are slide pictures. I did buy a Nikon slidescanner a few years back, and I did scan a few, but being busy, I never seem to get the time to digitalise them. Hopefully it will happen, because most of my photos during all my trips are still just collecting dust in my apartment. By the time that is done, this page will contain hundreds of new pictures from all over the word. Until then, hopefully you can still find a picture or two that you like.
